This energy shifting exercise will increase your bandwidth for awareness and also strengthen your ability to know what’s true. Notice that I didn’t say ‘truth.’ What’s true is alive, not static, it is always in movement.
Often we take surface assumptions on their initial merit without further exploring the layers and levels of ‘apparent reality’ that exist multi-dimensionally. Today, take a moment to incorporate the concurrent streams of ‘reality’ into your hypersensing awareness.
Reality . . . it’s a lot more flexible than you think!
I call this exercise The Looking Glass:
- Find a private space where you feel safe and comfortable. It is espcially important that you find a space and time where you will not be interrupted.
- Take your clothes off and look at yourself in a mirror. Play with this at whatever level you feel comfortable, then stretch your edge.
- Notice what you see and say internally. (If you vary the lighting, or your focus, your perspective shifts.)
- Now, close your eyes.
- Breathe . . Relax . . Expand . . Connect from the deep eternal inner to the great external outer.
- Open your eyes.
- Notice what you see and say.
- Closse your eyes.
- Breathe . . . .Relax . . Expand . . . Connect (inner/outer)
- Imagine yourself – as big as you can get. Imagine that your world – your stories, your history, how you see yourself, everything you know – are all contained within this great immense being.
- Notice the vibrant brilliant energy flow, filling the inner and outer spaces of your being.
- Feel the peace, the openness, the bounty of this being
- Inhale that essence into your body and feel the integration of it in your physical experience. (Do this three times)
- Slowly and gently open your eyes to a brand new you and world.
- Give yourself a big hug and smile!

The naked body thing wasn’t for me so I substituted it my face in the mirror instead. Even though there wasn’t as much skin — chuckle — the exercise worked brilliantly as well. I would have liked an example of maybe an example of when you did this and what happened. Or if you know of someone else that did this and what happened.
For me, the first time I saw only my glasses. The next time my hair, and the third time my lips. When I focused on the individual parts, I felt better about my appearance. I even took off my reading glasses and a new perspective appeared.
I tried expanding the exerise when I tried it the second day by record the first three quick words that appeared. Later I wrote the three words in my journal and did a freewriting using them. This revealed all sorts of inner chatter. From there I was able to understand what was going on subconsciouly. I’ve felt so much better about myself since. It was fun to play at this. Thank you for sharing this.
