Do not try to approach God with your thinking mind. It may only stimulate your intellectual ideas, activities, and beliefs. Try to approach God with your crying heart. It will awaken your soulful, spiritual consciousness. Sri Chinmoy
Chances are that you were trained to value your intellect much more than your ability to feel. In Western culture, the mind is revered and the heart is circumspect, at best.
And yet, your higher functioning is totally dependent on this feeling and sensing capacity. Your intuition and inspiration crest this wave and land you on the shores of creativity and innovation.
This highly attuned sense also delivers you from danger. Your ability to discern friend from foe, before words have been spoken or actions taken, has totally relied on this extra-sensory awareness.
The intellect is an extraordinary translator for the infinite world, but the direct connection to the unseen – the primary experiencer – is your heart. This is the pathway mapped out by mystics of all ages. In order for God to be known, God must be experienced. There is no word of mouth or treasured tome in this dimension of communion, it must be directly known.
And as you come to know ‘God,’ you come to awaken to your True Self.
